Simon Kirby is Professor of Language Evolution and Head of the Department of Linguistics & English Language at the University of Edinburgh. A Fellow of the British Academy, Royal Society of Edinburgh, and the Academia Europaea, he leads interdisciplinary research combining science and art in language studies.
